🇬🇧 How did you first get into Pitch & Putt?
In 2005, we took part in a beach volleyball tournament at Bussloo. Bussloo sponsored the first prizes in all categories: an 18-hole Pitch & Putt round for four people. After that, I was hooked. I became a member at Bussloo in 2005 and, after it opened at the end of 2006, I joined Papendal under the then owners, Jans and Richard Schrik.A small note: During the previous five years, Esther and I worked part-time in the hospitality industry at De Veluwse Golfclub and during the early years of Heelsumse Golfclub.
How do you deal with pressure during an important tournament?
In the beginning, I was extremely nervous: my first league match, first NRT, first European Championship, first World Championship, and so on. Now, after more than 21 years, it’s a healthy kind of tension that I actually enjoy.Where do you hope Pitch & Putt will be in five years?
I hope to see more young players joining the sport to ensure a strong new generation. What are your expectations for this weekend?
Since Crayestein is an extremely difficult Pitch & Putt course and I’ve only played it once, I hope to finish around par, preferably just below it. It will also depend on whether the pin positions are set fairly, with a relatively flat area of about 50 cm around the hole, considering the characteristics of the greens.
