The PPBN and FIPPA are proud and excited to announce that the PPBN has re-joined FIPPA. After an absence of 3 years of a Dutch representation, the Netherlands has been fully reinstated as full member of FIPPA.
History
After the fall of the Dutch Pitch&Putt franshise and NPPB in 2015, the new Dutch union PPBN was founded in 2016. Already in 2016 the PPBN applied to join FIPPA. Due to different circumstances this was denied. At the end of 2016 and beginning 2017 the PPBN was contacted by IPPA. After hearing and seeing some ambitious plans, the PPBN joined IPPA in april 2017.
After a promising start at the WSC Strokeplay in Milan, with great marketing and super communication, IPPA didn’t develop how we wanted them to develop. Communication was and is lacking and differences in opinion about future strategies of the sport were growing.
Negotiations
Since last may the PPBN and FIPPA have been in contact on a informal level, exchanging ideas about the future of the sport. During those conversations it was clear that we share the same ambitions and vision. The mutual respect for each other and the contribution to the sport on a national and international level is very high.
Also due to the recent last minute cancellation of international IPPA-tournaments the conversations between FIPPA and the PPBN got more serious and finally formalised, with the result that the PBPN as of today became full FIPPA-member again (therefore PPBN immediately resigned from IPPA).
Our arguments to join FIPPA are simple:
- The marketing (fippa.org) and communication towards players/members is very good
- There is mutual respect to hear each other and there is a common vision and ambition to develop the Pitch and Putt sport
- The calendar has been stable for years and many tournaments are well known
- On an international level the competition is the strongest in the world
More information will be available asap.
